Shh!! is designed around a simple principle: gesture recognition should happen on your device whenever possible.
01Gesture recognition
Shh!! uses your device’s camera to recognize supported hand gestures. Gesture recognition is processed locally on your device.
Camera content used for gesture recognition is not uploaded to Shh!! servers and is not stored by Shh!! as photos or videos.
The camera is used only while Shh!! needs gesture recognition, and according to Android’s permission and background-use restrictions.
02Camera permission
Shh!! requires camera access in order to recognize hand gestures. The camera permission is used for gesture recognition functionality.
Shh!! does not use this permission to create a personal photo or video library.
03Accessibility Service
Shh!! may use Android’s Accessibility Service to perform actions requested through your gestures. For example, a recognized gesture may trigger an action such as:
- play or pause
- move forward or backward
- switch media
- interact with supported on-screen controls
The Accessibility Service is used to provide Shh!!’s hands-free control functionality. It is not intended for advertising or selling personal information.
04On-device processing
Core gesture recognition is performed locally on your device. This means the visual information required to recognize gestures does not need to be sent to a Shh!! server for gesture recognition.
05Data storage
Shh!! does not store camera content used for gesture recognition as photos or videos.
Some settings may be stored locally on your device so Shh!! can remember your preferences. Examples may include:
- selected control mode
- feature preferences
- whether certain optional controls are enabled
These settings remain part of the application’s local configuration unless otherwise stated.
06Data sharing
Shh!! does not sell personal information. Camera content used for local gesture recognition is not shared with advertisers.
If Shh!! introduces optional online services in the future, this Privacy Policy will be updated before those services are used to process relevant information.
07Third-party applications
Shh!! can interact with other applications installed on your device in order to perform actions requested by you.
Those third-party applications operate under their own privacy policies and terms. Shh!! is not responsible for how third-party applications process their own data.
08Permissions
Depending on your Android version and enabled features, Shh!! may request permissions or system access required for its functionality. These may include:
- Camera access
- Accessibility Service access
- Notification permission
- Foreground service functionality
Permissions are requested only when needed for the relevant feature. You can manage Android permissions from your device settings.
09Children’s privacy
Shh!! is not designed to knowingly collect personal information from children through gesture recognition.
If additional online services are introduced in the future, their privacy implications will be documented in an updated version of this policy.
10Security
Shh!! is designed to minimize unnecessary transmission and storage of information. Keeping core gesture recognition on-device reduces the amount of information that needs to leave your device.
No software can guarantee absolute security, but Shh!! is designed with data minimization as an important principle.
11Changes to this policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated when Shh!! changes or new functionality is introduced. The latest version will always be available at justshh.com/privacy.
The “Last updated” date at the top of this page will indicate when the policy was most recently revised.
